Related project experiences

The purpose of the organization

To give technical and managerial support towards: the combat against desertification- poverty alleviation and sustainable development. The
implementation of National Action Plan "N.A.P" and U.N.C.C.D. policies in dry land areas. - To materialize voluntary and committed cooperation towards forementioned aims: organizing stakeholders from national down to local level as a coordinated whole, in response to the complex problems of desertification and sustainable development aims.

Programmes and activities

Our activities cover both the preventive and constructive aims of N.A.P. and U.N.C.C.D: Preventive activities :
- Reduction of soil degradation by wind and water erosion
- Prevention of the deterioration of the physical, chemical biological and economic properties of soil and water  resources.
- Prevention of long-term loss of natural vegetation; Constructive activities:
- Implementation of NAP policies at project level - Implementation of integrated approaches addressing the physical, biological and socio
-economic aspects of the processes of desertification,drought and sustainable development.
- Poverty alleviation: programming of alternative livelihood projects to reduce pressure on man and nature in the effected areas - Application of synergetic approaches to projects: thus creating incentives in local communities and inter-sectoral support to aims.- Revegetation of degraded and desertified land - Capacity building and training of local society, decision makers, and facilitators.- Organizing joint involvement of educated experts and local indigenous informants on projects.
